RR 238 (180 BKS.) (DB {Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 461-8-12 44) MP 306975 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: E.7.C. Order No.: WC101 Customer's No.: Re samples of Glover H.T. cable submitted by ROY {Sir Henry Royce} /GEA for test. The two samples sent were believed to be faulty or of poor quality by the external appearance of the rubber. We immersed one sample in water for 16 hrs and tested it at a high A.C potential. This sample immediately broke down when a voltage of 19000 RMS was attained. The other sample was not soaked at all but tested immediately after immersion in the tank and it also broke down after 3 mins at 19000 V R.M.S. We consider these samples to be of poor quality even compared with other samples of Glover cable. Signed: H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
