Page two of a test report on an ammeter's resilience to a short circuit when protected by a fuse.

was retested & found to be still in perfect condition.
The variable resistance was then cut out, which is equivalent to the earthing of the Klaxon causing a short on the battery.
The current was in the neighbourhood of 30 amperes & blew the fuse immediately, this was repeated on each side of the scale.
The instrument was then tested again & found to be OK in every respect.
By the above tests it appears that the ammeter cannot be damaged by the earthing of the Klaxon with the fuse in circuit as a protection.
