For the attention of Mr. C. Ward.

Dear Sirs,

Re: 33.G.Vll. Silver Dawn SO. (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Special).

It has been decided to equip this car with larger tyres than those already instructed. In the place of the 7.000" x 16", we shall use 7.500" x 16". This wheel is bigger in diameter and wider in section.

On PD.487 (2 sheets), prints of which we enclose herewith, we shew the effect on the front wings and the spare wheel well of these larger tyres.

In order to give only a small and reasonable foul between the front wheel on full lock and full bump, it has been necessary to cut out to a larger radius the out-swing valance. In order to prevent this change from making the wing to look necked, we have raised the wing at the crown.

The centre line (longitudinal) of the spare wheel relative to the centre line of the car has been moved out .350 inches in order to leave the wheel carrier unchanged, except in height. The centre of the wheel has been raised 2.400".

We shew a new type of wheel cover which we shall ask you to make, but a scheme of this will be sent to you in a day or so.

No change is needed in the rear wings.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.

CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS.
