Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} -4- Is this not an opportune time for you to take up with the R.{Sir Henry Royce} the possibility of using skew geared pumps. The Speedometer (A.T.) on 5-Goshawk-II was reading about 8 to 10% high. I was given to understand that this was the speedometer specially supplied for this car (13 X 61 axle geared ratio). The all-weather body fitted to this car appeared rather crude and cramped but Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} described it as being very "business-like", but I feel that this car will be a typical example of generally harsh running vibrations and even now shows to have, the complaint which Sales Dept. have against the 40/50 Car, very prevalent, which I feel we shall get much worse when the body parts begin to get loose, and rattle. 3-Goshawk-ll. (Goshawk limousine) Warwick has now tried this car and even with S.U. Carburetter - reports car is - No Good and considers there is something wrong with the engine which he is now investigating. Will report further. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
