I saw this car at the Weymann Works last night.
I came to the conclusion that the radiator with the shallower top tank and the reduced protrusion of the tank above the bonnet was very good. I liked the front appearance of the radiator better than the standard and think that the alteration has not altered the Rolls-Royce appearance.
The shape of the dashboard was not good. It was to our drawing, but our hopes were not realised, but having seen this model we believe we can now make a satisfactory design.
We believe that the corner of the dash should be lowered about .750.ins. and the dash made 40.ins. instead of 41.500ins.
This will remove the flat appear-ance of the top of the bonnet at the dash, which quarrelled with the curved shape at the radiator.
The top panel of the bonnet was twisted.
It would appear that we had overdone the raising of the side hinge at the dash, and the widening of the dash.
Since it is proposed to fit one of these dashes to the experimental car which we are building at Barkers, we have held them up on the full size drawing to await further instructions.
In the course of the next two days we will send to Derby the modified shape of dashboard. The modification is quite simple, the radiator being unchanged.
