The car was held up yesterday finishing off the shock dampers, fitting the side engine guards, and the rewelding of the front silencers.

It has resumed running to-day, but during this morning's run it showed that we are still not free of trouble from the oil in the engine sump. The pump is too efficient and practically empties the rear compartments whilst running. We are carrying out the oil temperature tests as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 10 KT 9/2/33.

19 EX. (x7941).

We have altered the car on the rear dampers and by doing so have been able to obtain a 130 pressure. This load is the limit we can get, the bellows are evidently collapsing.

We resumed running of this car after repacking the water pump and fitting a new rubber joint of the feed pipe to the cylinders. The car now has had to return owing to an oil leak from one of the damper studs. This trouble is with the near side damper. The oil is working through one of the studs holding the valve chest and it does not seem as if we can stop it. It half empties the damper in a very short time, therefore we are going to fit a new stud if possible.
