To Der from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to C.J. Sor. c. to Sy. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL. GOSHAWK 11. GEARBOX COVER. X4247 We send you herewith drawing No.Lec 1568 shewing the amount it is necessary to move the centre lines of bolts in the gearbox cover for the purpose of using the original standard square bolt heads instead of those with the corners turned off. It will be remembered that the former type has the advantage of not turning round when the nut outside is tightened, and is said to make a better oil joint. The question of the adoption of this particular modification we feel must be left to the judgement of the Works. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
