OIL RELAY IGNITION GOVERNOR.

X8685

In reply to your memo. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG291224., drawing No. LeC. 1917., shews three different ignition advance governor curves of which Mr. Royce chose the one marked in blue colour as the most desirable for the EAC. engine. This curve gives 46° maximum advance with normal advance on the steering column control, and as you remark it does not alter its shape with alteration of the position of this control. The curve will be bodily displaced to give 50° maxi- mum advance when the hand control lever on the steer- ing column is moved to the highest position as indi- cated on the diagrams of this control given on LeC. 1917.
