This car is returning to Derby this afternoon. In addition to the instructions you have already had for the engine, will you please carry out the following chassis modifications:- (1) Fit N.Sch.4902 2nd. speed pieces in the gearbox. When dismantling the gearbox will you check up that the taper fitted flange on the first motion shaft has not come loose. Omit oil thrower washer from servo drive shaft G.83590 and replace by washers G.84681/5. (2) Fit Hardy Spicer propeller shaft. (3) Fit the hardened steel rear axle pinion adjustment washer. (4) Check poundage of cross steering tube. At the same time check for tightness of nuts of the steering system, such as between the steering box and frame and the ball pin nuts, as these all came loose on 35-EX. (6) [Strikethrough]Mild[/Strikethrough] steel front engine feet. } (7) Fit the jacks and pump painted red which were handed to T.Fisher this morning. (8) Reline clutch with Thermoid lining. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} (9) Hand brake lever loose in shaft. Tighten this up and operating lever on same shaft. (10) Examine all plain bearings in front suspension and eliminate any tightness. | ||
