HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7830 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/6.2.26. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} & C. RE EXPERIMENTAL BODIES . Referring to BY9/H.4.2.26. concerning the open body for the first E.A.C.VIII. chassis, as previously stated we expect to take delivery of the body on Feb.19th. We have already asked Barkers to send you a set of front wings which you can be fitting with the R-R wing stays a design of which we are sending you today. We do not know how you propose to collect the body but we leave that to you. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} will see the body again in about a week's time. Whilst this body will perhaps not be of a type which we greatly favour it will be a correct job and not a compromise. It will give us the true appearance of the E.A.C.VIII. bonnet. From BY9/H.4.2.26. we judge that HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will be requiring a closed body for E.A.C.VIII. shortly. We agree with "C" that we would like to build this body as a special order. Will HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} please tell us what type of body he requires and also whether we can have a subframe for it. We shall shortly send you a scheme for over-coming the fracture of the main frame due to the concentrated subframe load. The cabriolet for E.A.C.I. is practically completed & we hope to let you have it as soon as we have got the open body away. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
