BAKELAQUE SHEET MATERIAL.

This refers to the bakelaque material referred to in Mr.Davis's note Ry/RD3/W8.4.30. The results of the various tests we have made on this later sample of bakelaque material is such that, as already verbally stated, we are completely satisfied that this material is suitable to take the place of the present standard sheet material used for the insulating plates on dynamo brush gear. Actually, we find the results of leakage tests to be considerably better than those obtained with previous samples, and in regard to the appearance of the material, a portion of my assistant's report AD.55. reads as follows :-

"The sample is of much better finish than the last piece tested though not entirely free from dull patches, and the thickness varies from .033" to .037" or somewhat more near the uncut edge."
