On the bench the machine gave an output slightly lower than when fitted to the car. There was a fair amount of sparking at the control brush. The brushes do not seem noisy, but the driving-end bearing has developed a certain amount of slackness and produces a rumbling sound.
On the whole the machine has come through the test moderately satisfactorily.
