give (6) photostat copy of tabular form of winding of this machine, in which each group of three actual coils with the corresponding three segments is treated as one actual coil, corresponding to one segment. We also give (7) actual winding diagram in which each coil is shown as a single turn, it being understood that the three coils of the group have 5, 7 and 8 turns respectively, also a simplified winding diagram in which each group of three coils is represented as one coil and the conductors numbered similarly, each one of which now represents 20 actual conductors. On the Bosch armature stamping now sent will be found a model of the winding wound with string in which two conductors per slot are represented on the same lines as in the simplified winding diagram. In this model, the side of the stamping to which the knot comes, corresponds to the commutator end of the armature.

This should be followed out in connection with the scheme of the winding shown on the small table.

Attached to Mr. Royce's copy of this report are two blueprints giving all particulars of the magnetic circuit of the Bosch and Liberty machines. A similar blueprint for the Smith 2D machines is to follow but is not yet available. The Bijur machine has not been available for dismantling and therefore these particulars cannot be given.
