X4228 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M7.7.24. X.3730 X.4239 X.4228. GOSHAWK 11. MODIFIED CARBURETTER CONTROLS. We send herewith N.sch.1820 shewing a spherical fitting for both ends of the carburetter controls on the instrument board. We were surprised when examining some standard Goshawks at coachbuilders, to find that the sphere on the dashboard is fixed to the mixture control tube. We had intended that it should slide, and what pumping there is should take place here. This would account for the control being in some cases pushed off the instrument board. In this modified scheme, (one of which we would like you to make as soon as possible and send to Messrs. Barker's to be fitted to the 20 HP. landaulette on our special underframe) the sphere on the instrument board locates the mechanism, and the one on the dashboard pumps. Messrs. Barkers will return to you the control supplied with the chassis. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
