The following cars have been fitted with Bakelite contacts in the cross steering tubes. This is the latest modification S.CD.693 to maintain the load on the contacts:- 3-CP-88 at mileage of 14,872. 3-AZ-158 " " " 21,003. 3-CM-87 " " " 8,658. 3-AX-151 " " " 17,400. 3-AX-143 " " " 20,023. (2) Hand Brake inadequate and affected by load. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} is working on the Packard scheme for the hand brake lever for future cars. (3) Oil leak from Rocker Cover Joints. N. have now received the new type solid jointing, which is being fitted as and when necessary (4) Inefficient Synchromesh. These are now being cured by the ironing out process, which cuts out dismantling of the gearbox. Cont'd.... | ||
