COPY. E.K.COLE. LTD. EKCO WORKS. SOUTHEND ON SEA. 18th February, 1936. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Dear Sirs, I hardly know how to reply to your letter of the 7th inst. because since writing you my letter of the 6th inst. I have again had to return the car for erratic charging causing headlights to flicker and also because the bush of the brake on the rear offside wheel was again 'seizing' up for the fourth time. The car was taken to your Works at Cricklewood last Friday when the above two points were attended to. I understand from my chauffeur, that he was told at your Works that the cause of the erratic charging was due to the radio being fitted incorrectly. I reported this to our Car Radio engineer, and send you herewith a copy of his report. With regard to the bush of the brakes 'seizing' up, I must say that this is the fourth time that this has happened and it is positively dangerous. I further have to report that the electrical side of the car has been examined by the Company's electrical engineer, and he reports that even after your supposed repair last Friday, that the regulator unit is still at fault. I think it absolutely necessary that I obtain some reasonable satisfaction on all these points from Rolls, as I am heartily sick of all the trouble and the fact that I have had to return the car at such frequent intervals is more than annoying. I shall be glad therefore to hear from you in regard to some proposition whereby this car can be exchanged for one that can be relied upon for a reasonable space of time. Yours faithfully, W.S.VERRELLS, (Sgd.) | ||
