Whilst we are designing this unit we should also keep in mind the fact that we hope to produce it as a Marine unit.

We think that the present moment is an excellent one to get this unit moving because it is almost impossible for us to go ahead with the design of the Myth until we have a really good Cost Section to which we can refer the designs. On the other hand, this oil engine will not be a cut-price job.

Salmonds is confident that he can hold 100 2-stroke m.e.p. at 1500 r.p.m. and probably at 2000 r.p.m.

Fortunately for us, Rg.{Mr Rowledge} is designing the pump which is one of the most difficult problems.

We attach outline prints of an engine which Salmonds thinks is the right size. The actual unit illustrated is a 2-cylinder engine, the one we should use would be a 3-cylinder.

If, without sacrificing any virtues, we can make our 3-cylinder engine go in a rationalised chassis, there is no doubt that the transmission will handle it quite successfully and we shall be able to get some very useful road testing.

We will come over and discuss the staff arrangements necessary to enable us to undertake this job.
