-3- MUDGUARDS - FRONT. These have cracked away very badly in several places on the chassis edge, mostly where the edge has been cut to clear chassis parts. Also the tops of the spare wheel wells are cracked front and rear ends. On the offside the spare wheel bracket has cut right through the base of the well. The wings are also cracked at the joint fixing to the running boards. MUDGUARDS - REAR. The rear mudguards were both loose at the back end where fixed to the body tail. STONE SHIELDS. These are held in position with studs screwed into the wing stays. Constant vibration has enlarged the holes where the studs have slackened, and in several cases the heads have cut through the aluminium shields, allowing them to drop. Larger washers are required here. RUNNING BOARDS. These are in good condition with the exception of the rubber strip running along the outside edge. Running up against the high kerbs on the Continent would account for these being damaged. Insufficient clearance is given between the rear end of the N.S. running board and mudguard. This has allowed small stones to be trapped, setting up friction between the two. The clearance on the O.S. is correct. REGISTRATION PLATE. The lighting of the built-in number plate is inadequate. BONNET. Insufficient clearance has been given between the bonnet and mudguards, also round the spare wheel brackets. The base of the bonnet sides is cutting into the mudguards. | ||
