Power plants for aircraft.

Improvements relating to power plants for aircraft. The pilot of a tractor airplane sits in the fuselage with two engines behind him in tandem. Two airscrews mounted in front of the pilot rotate in opposite directions each being driven by one engine through a cardan shaft with a bend in it, the two shafts lying on opposite sides of the pilot.

Magneto distributor and interrupter for internal combustion engines.

Distributor and interrupter are driven by the same shaft. Distributor which is constructed in known manner as an insulation member carrying terminals of ignition cables and has two hollow spaces separated by a wall of insulating material. One space contains the interrupter and the other the distributor, the walls of the hollow spaces serve to centre the distributor piece which is adapted to be dismounted as a self contained whole.

Internal shoe drum brakes.

Internally expanding brake of the type in which shoes (or at least the leading shoe) are freed to perform a limited rotational movement and a single spreading means is employed. The spreading means operates on the leading shoe through a linkage which tends to turn the shoe about a fulcrum near the spreading means, the movement applies the shoe. The reaction in the linkage is taken by the other shoe which is thus applied.
