PRODUCTION TESTS OF EAC. DYNAMOS.

With regard to the three Specifications of Inspection & Test of the RR. EAC. Dynamo, viz :-

A.{Mr Adams} That for the old standard machine, dated 14.10.26
B. That for the modified old std. " dated 13.4.27,
C. That for the N.B. type of machine, dated 24.6.27,

the following paragraph should be considered to be included at the end of item (3) of these specifications.

"Particular notice should be taken of any undue brush noise which may develop on this test. On any brush which is "noisy", it should be again checked that the clearances between the brush and its holder both axially and circumferentially, and between the bottom of the holder and the commutator, do not exceed the specified amount. Also that the bedding of the spring on the bevel of the brush and of the brush on the commutator are O.K.

Failing to quieten noisy brushes in this way, the armature should be removed and the commutator skimmed, before proceeding with the final running test."

We are not re-issuing the sheets at the moment, but if or when it becomes necessary to make any other changes in the specification of the N.B. machine, then this addition will duly be included.
