To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} L9410 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG3.7.24. FOUR WHEEL BRAKES. We notice that the brackets for the rear end of the front springs are soldered and rivetted. On the cars running 10,000 miles in France, all the experimental cars running about, and on the tests carried out on the bumping rig, these brackets have been brazed and rivetted. The first bracket was made soldered and rivetted but after a few minutes running on the bumping rig, the solder cracked and it was agreed at that time that we should braze them. Since then all the brackets have been brazed. We have had no trouble whatever with the brazed brackets. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
