X9410 Mr. Booth. Ws. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} BY10/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 4. 7. 24. E.A.C.III. ANCHOR BRACKET FOR REAR END OF FRONT SPRING. It has been decided in conformity with the views of the Experimental Dept. on this unit that instead of dip brazing to fix the bushes and soldering between the two brackets where they abutt on one another, we shall dip braze the whole unit. This dip brazing will soften the steel after it is heat treated. I have pointed this out to the Experimental Dept. who assure me that one bracket has done three or four hundred hours on the Bumper, and although it showed slight signs of cracking on the lugs, it has done an excessive amount of bumping, which would make the life on the car infinite, comparatively speaking. In view of the foregoing, will you therefore kindly instruct that the brackets are dip-brazed in accordance with our original instruction. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
