Dear Sirs,

Referring to our letter of yesterday's date, reference BY24/H.2.6.27, I find that I called for springs 1200 and 1250, in error. Our Experimental Dept. prefer the springs to be 1100 and 1150 lbs and therefore the plates should be ordered up suitable for this type spring.

We do not feel there is any object in making special Silico-Manganese springs for the rear, as the front spring is inevitably the one that gives us trouble through breakages. On the rear, spring failures are few, the main reason being of course because we have a longer spring at the rear, and the side stress on the plates, due to the axle moving angularly to the propellor shaft, is considerably reduced.

Yours faithfully,

M Harvey Bailey
