BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL E1/M10.12.27. X5010 (handwritten, crossed out) X5030 (handwritten, crossed out) X5000 (handwritten, crossed out) 20HP. CRANKSHAFT & CON. ROD. We send you herewith LeC. 2498. shewing modifications to the new 20HP. crankshaft whereby the dia. of the crankpin is increased from 1.5 to 1.75, and the width of the oval web is increased from 3" to 3¼". As a new con. rod is necessitated by the larger crankpin we have produced one of the tubular pattern. This type of rod has a somewhat neater end and the banjo goes into the crankchamber with a little more clearance. A drawing shewing particulars of the piston will follow. The modified piston is required on account of the lubrication of the little end. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [STAMP: RECEIVED with illegible details] | ||
