Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant (Cont'd). - 2 - It should be clearly understood that it is definitely unadvisable to employ Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant where Mobiloil EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} is recommended. Conversely, where Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant is recommended, Mobiloil EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} should not be used owing to its lower extreme pressure characteristics which are inadequate for the newer types of Hypoid Gears referred to. Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant has been tested, and is approved by General Motors Corporation for Buick, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Oldsmobile cars and by Packard. Other approvals will follow in due course. The 1937 Mobiloil Chart of Recommendations will include Gargoyle Hypoid Gear Lubricant, and as certain car manufacturers will insist on only Hypoid Gear Lubricant being used for their units, dealers should carry the necessary stocks to meet the demand.
