Evidence has already come to light showing that Royce & Hives were interested in the 2 litre Bugatti + had stripped, evaluated & rebuilt Presciliano's 2 litre. In the early 1930's the successor to the 6 cyl Phantom II had not crystallised except for a general move towards 'more cylinders' (for reduced torque-reaction vibration). The 17hp Peregrine II was also still under development with a blown engine & it is therefore logical to note the interest shown by R & Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} in the 2 litre blown straight 8 Bugatti at this point in time.
