File. Radiators 1158 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}6/GH.19.2.40. 19th February 1940. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. A.W. DUNN. ------------------------------- In reply to yours of the 14th instant., regarding the modification of the Silver Dawn radiator to Wraith 80, we would confirm that the bottom tank already existing on the Silver Dawn may be used for the Wraith 80. Our only reason for suggesting that a complete new unit should be made, was that, if the Silver Dawn had been completed, it would probably have been more economical to have held this as a spare than to scrap it to make up the Wraith 80. However, if you consider it easier to alter the existing inner unit, we are quite agreeable to utilising any pieces you desire. In reply to a letter of Mr. Wren's asking for prints of the Ripple radiator shell, we much regret the delay in answering, but unexpected difficulties have arisen in obtaining prints. As soon as these come to hand, however, we will forward them for your attention. We have not yet received the modified heater discussed with you on the writer's last visit, and as we are becoming increasingly anxious to get this on test, we should be very grateful if you would urge the job as much as war conditions will allow. - continued - | ||
