40/50 CHASSIS - OIL LEVEL INDICATOR. X.3527
X.1692

Referring to scheme No.418, Mr. Royce would
like you to use a circular glass tube in a slotted brass
cover for the indicator portion of the mechanism, arranged
so that it is possible to see right through, and with the
scale marked on the side. The general idea of the scheme
he agrees with, but thinks that a smaller hole could be
used for the connection to the crankcase, and that it might
be advisable to guide the float and pointer by means of the
rod instead of the float. What do the Marmon do with
respect to this point, and can you send the Marmon gauge
to WW. for inspection, and one of the proposed RR. gauges
if there is one made?
