Oil Level on Gear Boxes. √3527 X3426 Springfield have adopted a filler plug and oil level gauge as standard on the gear box of the 40/50 car made at Springfield, which Oy, has promised to submit to R.{Sir Henry Royce} and CJ. as per latest arrangement. I thought the idea was good and attach herewith prints giving particulars of the gauge referred to. I suggest that the scheme be considered for use on our present car; an easy means of filling and a correct level of oil being important features, so far as gear boxes having correct attention whilst in service are concerned.
