Carburetter Air Valves. --------------------------- Reference Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}21/MW.26.3.34. We are about to start a 10,000 miles test with the new Rolls-Royce expanding carburetter. This should certainly be free from the particular type of air valve sticking which has given us trouble on the present 20/25 carburetter, and is going into production forthwith. In view of this fact it is not feasible to bring in this new type of air valve for the few cars still to be manufactured with the Rolls-Royce carburetter. In addition, it has not had nearly sufficient running to show that it is satisfactory. We are continuing to run the air valve, and at some future date it may become available as a scheme for dealing with customers' complaints.
