SECRET. 600 Dy{F R Danby}/Schr. Fw/Sct. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/Mu. E.1/HP.12.6.37. C. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Mrs. Wraith III Electrical Specification. With reference to our discussion concerning memo Wst./RC.{R. Childs}8/JH.7.6.37, it is agreed that the specification as outlined should be worked to for the first Wraith car to go to France, with the exception of the following items:- It is understood that the Dynamo frame and field DW.252, and regulator and cutout Lucas LFT7 have already been rigged up on the chassis. The Drawing Office will run over this job to see if, and what alterations are necessary for final production. Starter motor (complete) should be the standard production type instead of to the particulars asked for. It is agreed that Horn M.7.13 Lucas will go on the existing brackets. Dipper Switch FS.{F. Steele}22/4 Lucas should be rigged up by the Experimental Department. The official scheme will follow in due course. Battery Box and Fittings DW.312 - It has been established that the Bitumin paint coating as applied is not satisfactory and leads to early destruction and rusting of the blocks. Wst. will find out if there is a sulphuric acid resisting coating which can be baked on. Failing this the lead coated boxes will have to go on eventually on production although a cheaper process of putting on the lead will also be investigated as an alternative.
