Hallam - Head Repairs} (1) RADIATORS. Reference Minute 1. of 4/6/20. Sub-paragraph (a) Before Marstons' Board arrived at a decision regarding the supply of radiators, a controversy arose between ourselves and them regarding the method of construction, and this has been a subject of correspondence ever since. Marstons have now submitted to us two radiator top tanks, one constructed in accordance with our drawing, and the other made in accordance with their usual practice, and we are to decide which method is to be adopted in future. Until this matter is settled we cannot get further with our negotiations with Marstons. In spite of this we do not think there is the slightest risk of our supplies of radiators running short. Sub-paragraph (b) Mr.Hildenty stated he had received the model pieces from Mr.Bailey and he sent them to Messrs Taylor and Challen who have quoted for necessary presses for the manufacture of all the sheet metal parts for the radiator. Two Presses will be required and the total cost of these, without tools, would be about £900. Mr.Hildenty has not been able to make an appointment with this firm owing to his absence in Paris. He is arranging for an appointment as soon as possible, when the question of Press Tools and also the question of machinery necessary for the manufacture of Radiator tubes, will be discussed. | ||
