In order to avoid complaints to CJ. from U.S.A.(and they have been for some little time now complaining that we are not giving them sufficient attention and information) Mr. Johnson wants Mr. Longe to carefully watch the interests of our American friends, and it will be necessary that Mr. Longe should receive copies of all letters and cables etc. that are received from R.R. of America, so that he can be held responsible for urging and seeing that America receives prompt attention.

I do not, of course, wish it to be understood that I consider R.R. America have not been generously dealt with, but to by making one person responsible we shall be better able to give definite reasons to Mr. Johnson, at any time.
