Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}19/JH.26.4.40. re Blue Prints for Ashby de la{L. A. Archer} Zouche. We are informed that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has instructed that for every complete experimental car built we should deposit in the safe vaults at Ashby de la{L. A. Archer} Zouche a complete set of details and L.O.P.s. Already we have been instructed that the B.V. production chassis should be so treated and a certain number of details and L.O.P.'s have been so filed. We wish you to complete the B.V. job without delay, and would like to hear from you exactly how the job stands up to date. There will be very few B.V. details on any of the Rationalised Range, since these cars have a new engine, gearbox, axle and frame. We suggest, therefore, that you commence the Rationalised range by filing at Ashby de la{L. A. Archer} Zouche complete details and L.O.P.'s of the Silver Ripplet 2.R.2. Using this car as a basis you then file the extra details and all the L.O.P.'s. of say the R.H. Silver Phantom. The job should go on through the range until the following cars are covered. Silver Ripple. Bentley 6. Cresta. Comet. Corniche 60 and 80. Silver Wraith. Silver Phantom R.H. Silver Phantom L.H. Of these cars only Silver Phantom and Silver Ripplet are up to date. It will be necessary to bring the other models in line before details are filed, but if necessary details can be filed for the car as last spec-ified, provided a model was made experimentally. | ||
