X8640 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. c. BY/RD. EFC2/T23.10.25. X.8640. REVISED ARRANGEMENT OF EAC. SILENT STARTER X.8650. MOTOR SCHEME. As remarked to you in conversation, it is now desired to move on with this job to enable us to get two sets of these fitted to two chassis which are at present under construction, as arranged with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We have in here two suitable starter motors and one complete set of automatic switchgear, which only requires final testing. This will confirm that you will be making up two sets of the mechanical parts, i.e. reduction gear, etc. from the various instructions which you have received from BY/RD, which I understand are complete to date to AJS1/M9.1.25. and LeC.1973. Of the two sets to be constructed, one might have the one helix angle and the other set the other of the two alternatives. Further, that you will now put in hand a second set of switchgear made up with the longer pole cores for which, we understand, you have complete instructions. It will also be necessary to [handwritten: produce] receive in due course a third set of switchgear, because the one we have nearly in readiness is not quite to our latest design as regards the pole cores. At the same time it would be desirable to have the third set of switchgear fitted with the gold-silver Reynold points, as already instructed in our EFC9/T7.10.24. EFC. | ||
