-20- trouble due to heat and vaporisation of the petrol, but this is dealt with in an earlier report. Park Ward Saloon (Close-Coupled). The body has been free from rattles and has given no trouble. No cracks have developed in the coachwork and the roof and windscreen has been free from water leaks in wet weather. Sliding seats have worked without sticking, and the general comfort has been good. The sliding roof makes a good deal of noise and has had to be wedged so as to keep it still. The doors do not appear to have sunk. The rubber pads at the body mountings are in good condition. Hydraulic Jacks. LOP. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 82559. We had trouble with the jacks sinking into soft ground under the weight of the car, so much so that the wheel is very little clear of the ground, making removal of the wheels difficult. We have suggested that the pads be made larger to prevent this, but we naturally realise that on very soft ground; i.e. muddy field, that this would happen in any case. After 7,685 miles, the O.S.R. jack tube gland started to leak oil and continued to do so whenever used until the end of the mileage. The hole in the floorboards is very convenient and the working of the pump presents no difficulties. Weight of Ph.III. 32-EX 2 tons. 11 cwts. Petrol used - Esso. Oil used in engine. - Castrol XL.
