X8370 De. C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY8/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 3.5.26. INTRODUCTION OF FLEXIBILITY INTO OPERATION OF SERVO. -------------------------------- With reference to R3/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 22.4.26. of which you have a copy, I am handing you herewith blueprint of the Experimental Scheme EX.985, showing how the Experimental people introduced the rubber ring referred to in their Standardization Sheet, and similar to the scheme which was fitted to Mr.Royce's car. We have received from you a scheme of spring steel washer. What we are anxious to know is, what attitude is to be adopted on production in regard to this trouble. Are you agreeing to use a rubber ring as a temporary expedient but a necessary one, until the steel washer is available, or is the rubber ring not considered satisfactory? I am sending you the blueprint so that the matter can be considered, and some definite instructions sent along. I think the matter is sufficiently important to raise with R, and his decision wired on to me if it is to the effect that we should at once start fitting the rubber scheme. . BY.{R.W.
