| V962 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1/JH. Your ref. E.2. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. Dear Sirs, Oil level Gauge for E.R.Hall's Bentley. We have recently tried the 2-wire instrument supplied by you, and have had considerable trouble with the sump unit as the small float supplied is not big or heavy enough to drive it. As we would certainly get the same trouble with the scheme Y.47142 as shown, please arrange to supply a cork float 4 times the volume of the sweated tin floats shown. The float will have to be detachable and on the opposite side of the sump unit to that shown. This is required urgently. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
