| XQ62 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}8/Jli.15.6.36. B-21 Hall's Unit. During the first attempt at 24 hours endurance on B-3 unit, a bottom valve spring washer broke. Will you please incorporate on B-21 unit strengthened bottom washers to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}133. We have also taken the opportunity of reducing the Valve spring clearance on its spigot from .025 to .005 to stop chatter. We are likewise asking for modified valve spring top washers to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}134. We have received B-3 fitted with alternate exhaust valve designs to Lec.6115 for further endurance. Until we have proved one of these designs, will you please hold up on the exhaust valves for B-21 unit. Ha/H.H.Swindall. | ||
