x2677 Exptl. Dept. HA/Dwg. 25/KW. 5th July, 1934. Messrs. The S.U. Co.Ltd., East Works, Bordesley Green Rd., BIRMINGHAM 8. Attention of Mr. Kent. Dear Sirs, The writer is sorry that he was out when Mr. Kent called this morning, to discuss the large capacity fuel pump which you recently supplied to us. Up to date we have not carried out many tests as we are awaiting a suitable tap and filter to be made up. We have however tested the delivery through open pipes using the correct length of piping and correct suction head, and we are very pleased with the result, having attained 285 pints/hr. through the twin pump and 157 pints/hr. through one pump only, so we should get well over the 200 mark with tap and filter fitted. We think actually that it will be best for us to get some definite figures with completed system before we trouble you with other points to be raised. We can then discuss the whole matter at one time and so save continual trips to Derby or to Birmingham. Meanwhile we will hasten the job through and hope to let you have the results before very long. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
