contd :- -2- As a matter of fact the Production Test would like more oil. Springfield are using extra oil. In view of this we think it would be very unwise to depart from the present Phantom crankshaft oiling scheme. The advantages of the new scheme are doubtful and we think it wise to reduce the risks on the 'SS{S. Smith}' wherever possible. Referring to the above, we think that we should still go on with our experimental investigations both with the tubular rods and with crankshaft oiling but we ought to decide from the first 'SS{S. Smith}' these are not essential items and when they have been proved satisfactory they can be brought in as modifications. hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
