Other Bentley matters

News is still awaited from BY about the standardisation and price of the stabiliser bumper for the front.

Several sets of lead bronze bearings have been sent to Paris for trial on cars, and news is still awaited from RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} regarding more sets to be fitted to other cars to make up a total of 12 sets. |RVC

Horst Features - these are
(1) Performance in view of increased weight
(2) Front end movement.

Petrol Filters.

It was decided to put back the filters in the S.U.Carburetters on Bentleys. A Depot Sheet is being circulated regarding this.

20/25 h.p.

It was reported that 21-G-IV will be going to France about the end of June. Goes end of week.

Stiff Steering.

This was discussed and the importance of an early remedy for this was emphasized.
Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} instanced the case of Mr.Guy Knowles' car by comparison with his own, and said that complaints of a sort we were receiving regarding unpleasant steering could only have one result, namely, a reaction on orders from customers and consequent loss of business. Eg referred to the fact of C's car having been sent up to S. specially for the steering to be investigated, but Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} reported that nothing had been done in this connection because they were giving attention to the carburetter troubles and making petrol consumption tests with this car.
The fact remains that the steering on C's car is acceptably light but does not appear to differ structurally from other steerings which are heavy.
This matter is one of great urgency.
