Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. Muhlenkampf.

With reference to your letter of the 31st. May. We should like to point out that when we have undertaken to carry out tests on tyres for other tyre manufacturers, they have supplied us with tyres free of charge. The arrangement we have had is that we send to them reports on the behaviour of the tyres and how far they have run and also send the car over to them for them to inspect the tyres at certain intervals.

At the present time we are mostly interested in straight sided tyres. We believe that it will not be very long before the Clincher pattern is obsolete.

If you insist that we pay for these tyres, we regret that we cannot undertake the tests and will return these tyres to you.

Yours faithfully,
