REF. AM/MS.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
Nightingale Road,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Hines.

Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter of the 7th inst. Although it is evidently a misunderstanding on both Mr. Johnson's and my part, as to what was arranged (as when speaking to Mr. Johnson I was under the impression that he was giving me an order) still, after receiving your letter I wired the Works to know whether they would agree to give me the set of tyres free for you. Having received their reply I enclose herewith a credit note for the amount we charged you with.

I may also say that we were making the straight-sided tyre before the War, and we shall shortly be in the market again with these, but we are, I believe, going to confine ourselves to the Cord tyre in the straight-sided.

Yours faithfully,
ENGLEBERT TYRES, LIMITED.
