To. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} [Handwritten top left]: Stock item held up. C. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} [Handwritten top center]: XH554 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}9/GR.{George Ratcliffe}31.1.33. 20/25 H.P. CHASSIS. 200 sets of material were authorised to be ordered on the 9th instant. The whole of it, however, cannot be released by By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, with the result that Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} is unable to order the whole of the 200 sets which are to be known as 'Z' Series. 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. The same remarks apply except that 100 sets of material were authorised to be ordered on the 18th instant, and this batch of material is to be known as 'P.2.' Series. It is imperative that the items at present held in abeyance should be settled at the earliest possible moment in order that they can be released and material ordered. The delay in the ordering of material is causing us quite a deal of worry, because the late arrival of it into the Works necessitates extra expense, which is increasing costs in the matter of small set-ups, overtime, week-end work, etc. to meet the demands of the Sales Dept. I do hope, therefore, that all concerned will give their immediate consideration to those items still outstanding both in connection with the 20/25 batch of material and also the 40/50 referred to above. Those items which are held up are referred to in By/Cgh{W Clough}5/G.25.1.33. in the case of the 40/50 and By1/G.10.1.33. in the case of the 20/25. [Handwritten]: 40/50 P.2. series material Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} P.S. Please let me know the position of each of the improvements, because if we are not likely to get them settled up quickly we should put on the old parts. | ||
