willsee that these have gone very badly, in fact they had to be dispensed with after that number of miles, as misfiring began to occur.
We should like you if possible firstly to obtain for us two spare sets of these Remy ignition contact breaker levers and points, and when we have these to enable us to make further tests, to pass this present Remy set on to Messrs. Reynolds for their observations and a query as to why we cannot get the same material from them that is fitted to these points and does so well on our test, telling them that it is aur definite experience that nearly all the U.S.A. fitted tungsten points have done and do well both on the bench and on cars in England, whereas in a general way we have had nothing but dissatisfaction with trials of tungsten points which have been prepared for us in this country on our own contact levers and points.
It has been so much so that some people have been led to suppose that there has been something faulty about our ignition equipment, but the fact that the points of the present sample are in such good condition, having run on our own equipment, which also is inherently unlikely, negatives this idea./ We [strikethrough]think[/strikethrough] feel sure that it is a question of the material of the points and nothing else, and we should very much like to be able to get in England the same material of which the points herewith are composed.
