Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.Steadman.

We have examined the two motor rheostats which you have returned, and these appear to be very much overheated, which has caused charring of the insulating material.

Would you let us know what motor they have been controlling and also the wattage which they have been required to dissipate?

They are actually designed to dissipate not more than 5 watts.

We take it that the quotation for which you asked us on March 30th is for rheostats to control our own motor. Will you please let us know the speed variation required and the size and type of fan which will be fitted to the motor?

It would help us to get the rheostat right if you could let us have one of the fans which it is proposed to use.

We are withholding our quotation until we have these particulars as it may be necessary to modify the rheostat.

Yours truly,
THE BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO. LTD.

W.Martin-Hurst
Director.
