CONFIDENTIAL 22nd March, 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Dear Sirs, Re 1.B.50. Wn RECEIVED MAR 23 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} As we are anxious not to be held up with this coachwork in any way, may we ask you to let us have instructions for painting and upholstery. We suggest respectfully for your consideration black cellulose with a fine white line as the former can so easily be touched in if damaged, and brown leather for the upholstery as we can obtain this without much delay from our Curriers. In case Mr. Robotham may be a little disappointed with the progress seen on his call yesterday, we would assure you that our Works are constructing the sections in conjunction with the drawing office and we are doing everything possible to ensure that the body will be ready for delivery by May 6th, as you requested. The drawing has been pressed on with all speed, considering that this is the first chassis of its type, so that much more thought has had to be given to it, and the print of the dashboard was only recently received by us on the 12th instant. Yours faithfully, for PARK WARD & CO. LTD. M.A. Thompson | ||
