STROMBERG CARBURETTERS

HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KW22.1.36

I think you are right in sticking to Cast Iron Bodies for these carburettors.

Of course, I did not agree to any change being made to those you had been testing, it was Mr. Turner who stated that we should get broken flanges on the bodies made in cast iron, both in their Works and possibly in service.

I told them definitely I was not there to make any alteration, I had brought a model with me and my job was to get them made quickly and help them if I could.

Judging from the difficulties we are having with Stromberg carburettters we had better stick very strictly to what we have been testing rather than risk running into further trouble. They did not mention any difficulty at all to me about getting cast iron bodies, that is a new story. At the same time I agree with your remark that Bronze should probably be better than cast iron, but it is not the time to introduce it.
