206 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}1/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 6th April, 1937. The Manganese Bronze & Brass Co.,Ltd., Handford Works, IPSWICH, SUFFOLK. Bush for Bentley Anti-Judder Wt W Sch 4865 Dear Sirs, Bronze Bushes. Sometime ago we were given a bronze bush made by yourselves which had run 30,000 miles on an old type Bentley motor, unlubricated, and which seemed in very good condition. We enclose the bush in question. We would like to try a set of bushes made of this metal to the dimensions shown on our drawing GB.2332. The bearing in question has no steady load on it but tends to wear due to fidgeting. If you agree to supply us with 8 bushes for test purposes we would send you an official order for them. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
